Artificiero is my solo project of “electronic esoterica”, although other (more in-the-know), have labeled it “Avant Techno” or “Dark Dance”. It’s music intended to have a ritual component, and it’s also music that is neither mediatized by the dancefloor nor ignorant of it.
I started the project in 2015 playing in a small club in Madrid. Since then, I’ve done a handful of live sets in very disparate places: clubs (the well-known Griessmühle in Berlin among them), art galleries, festivals, bars, auditoriums, movie theaters and open air not-completely-legal raves.
Early 2016 I released my first reference: a mini-album recorded in an old 8-track Tascam cassette machine and released also in cassette format by Verlag System, a label from Valencia specialized in underground electronica (kind of). One year later, my first album appeared, this time on vinyl. Called “Masa negra”, it’s the first reference of Discos Atónicos, a Berlin based label run by the DJ and producer Alienata.
2018 have proven to be a busy year recording-wise: I’m taking part in an international compilation released by Frigio Records, called “All Stars Vol. 2”, and I will release a new reference for Atónicos end of the year. And in the live realm, I’m part of the line-up of Mugako Festival, an excellent festival of advanced electronica which takes place in the Basque Country.
